HIV/AIDS Clinical Monitoring System
HIV/AIDS Clinical Monitoring System (abbr. AIDSCM) is a complete solution for
tracking clinical observation and HAART (Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy)
treatment of HIV/AIDS patients. The collected data can be used for statistical
and epidemiological analysis and reporting. AIDSCM creates an up to nation-wide
integrated dataspace where every patient, hospital,
or health authority is assigned an unique ID. This
allows to easy and automatic obtaining all the data on treatment and
observation of patient from every hospital and integrating it into patient’s
case history seamlessly, and also circulation of documents between hospitals
and healthcare authorities.
AISDCM is addressed to:
- Hospital
doctors and nurses – AIDSCM lightens routine tasks of case
history filling by providing features such as autocompletion,
while providing a convenient way of browsing and analysing
previous case history. Additional features include physical growth and
development charts, adherence risks forecasting, psychological aid,
analysis, questionnaires, polls, etc. Clinical observation tracking for
both adults and children is provided.
- Epidemiologists and other public health
and medical professionals – With its Report Wizard, AIDSCM enables you to
quickly and easily design and display all sorts of analytic and detailed
reports. Report Wizard can produce reports in HMTL and MXL format.
- Persons
in charge of distribution of medicaments – AIDSCM calculates stock and
predicts requirements of medicaments for subordinate bodies and provides
effective means for controlling medicaments flow between medical
organizations.
2. Technical details

Works in distributed database environment with tree-type structure.
Supports synchronization of data between cooperating sites, e.g. hospitals.
Direct Internet connection is not required.

Involves comprehensive user rights management system.

Password-protects and ecrypts confidential
data using stong encryption algorithm (RSA).

Supports exporting data into various formats (Microsoft® Excel, HTML,
plain text).

Introduces safe deletion of database records (a record is physically
deleted only after ensuring that it’s not referenced by any object in any
site’s database).

Includes built-in database maintenance tools.
·
Includes built-in remote software update mechanism.
·
Includes built-in instant messenger for communication between users.
3. Implementation
Now AIDSCM is used by 8 regional centers. According to the plans of
donors (International HIV/AIDS Alliance), in next 3 years AIDSCM will be
implemented in all Ukrainian regional centers.
